Promoting Mental Well-being in Multicultural Communities

SHIFT THE NARRATIVE

RETHINK MENTAL HEALTH

The Safe Space Project aims to minimize stigma and cultivate communities where mental health is both embraced and prioritized.

Empowering Refugee Champions, Communities, and Allies

Our Mission

Our mission is to destigmatize mental health and promote mental well-being through literacy, advocacy, and the creation of brave, safe, and inclusive spaces.

By empowering refugee champions, communities, and allies with knowledge and fostering open dialogues within culturally sensitive frameworks, we strive for a future where mental well-being is highly embraced and prioritized in multicultural communities.

Join us on this transformative journey to cultivate understanding, compassion, and resilience. Together, we can shift the narrative on mental health and build a more inclusive, supportive world.

AWARENESS. LITERACY. BRAVE & SAFE SPACES

Cultivating Mental Wellbeing

Education, Advocacy, and Community Engagement: Dismantling stigma through literacy initiatives and community engagement, including hosting an impactful retreat/conference to spark dialogue and drive meaningful change.

Brave & Safe Spaces: Cultivating inclusive and supportive environments by fostering open dialogue and mutual understanding through structured well-being circles.

Capacity Building: Equipping community champions with essential trauma-responsive skills, empowering them with Psychological First Aid (PFA) and Stress Management (SM) techniques to strengthen resilience and enhance compassionate interactions.

Resilience Support: Providing community leaders with practical tools and evidence-based strategies to navigate life experiences, alleviate stress, and enhance overall well-being through one-on-one counseling interactions.

The Safe Space Project promotes the idea that emotional safety is not only found in traditional mental health settings or just in our loved ones, but also in everyday environments with strangers.

From honoring our stories/experiences to sharing a meal, laughter, and playing board games, there are so many ways to engage in activities that promote brain health.
